Candles
The project attempts to illuminate the subtle animating forces of breath. Small cylinders of light are amplified and brightened when a participant blows on them, thereby transferring the power of their living breath into luminant energy. The iconic metaphor of candles take on a twist, when flickering patterns persist and echo outward; rather than extinguishing the candles the act of blowing becomes a seed for the growth and animation of dancing light patterns.
Involvement: PIC Programming, circuit design, installation design. The candles were shown at the ITP Winter Show, 2005.
