Second Life Will Eat Itself
With the enormous popularity of Second Life, thousands of active users are cultivating their new second life personas. In this new world of second chances and user configurable body types, nothing is what it seems. People deviate from their first life 'configuration' and develop their avatar in the way they would like to be perceived. Second Life provides the freedom from the rigor of first life. After all, in second life, you can even fly.
While Second Life rises in popularity, we are on a quest to develop the perfect AI, to write code that will pass the ultimate Turing test. 'Second Life will Eat Itself' weds the free will and flexibility of second life with the algorithm rigidity of an AI. This project explores how people would react to a Turing test in Second Life. The A.L.I.C.E. engine was used and the code was made freely available.
